Your Path to Mastery & Transformation

Alchemy is built out of the voiced needs of Yoga Teachers.

You want to learn how to do more than teach a class, but don’t know how to run a retreat or offer private sessions. You are drawn to teach a specific population, but don’t know how to get there. You love yoga, but feel its benefits aren’t taken seriously or understood. You want to provide proof. You miss the camaraderie of a learning community and often feel isolated as a yoga teacher, which leads to burnout.

Our Advanced Teacher Training is designed to address these limitations and to help you develop your unique expertise, teaching voice, and professional vision.

Alchemy is run like a graduate school program.

The modular format allows you to customize your learning journey, while our mentorship component ensures personalized guidance every step of the way.

Unlike generic advanced trainings, our program builds on identified needs and areas of growth within the yoga profession. Then it helps you discover and develop your unique strengths as a teacher through electives and mentorship.

Imagine where you could be in just one year with the right guidance, specialized knowledge, and supportive community

Here’s How the Program is Designed

1

Modular Learning Format

The four modules focus on areas that are in demand —functional anatomy, nervous system regulation, women’s health, and pain management.

For each of these modules, a specific application is also taught—how to teach alignment-based yoga for global strength and mobility, how to design and run a retreat, how to conduct private sessions, and how to recruit from and provide services within a system such as healthcare.

3

Personalized Mentorship

Receive one-on-one guidance directly from Sara. Together, we will refine your teaching, develop your professional vision, and create a portfolio that sets you apart. You’ll benefit from Sara’s extensive training, experience teaching yoga, running a yoga business, and career as a professional writer and researcher.

2

Specialized Expertise development

Develop in-depth knowledge in areas that align with your interests and strengths through a wide variety of electives.

Electives on this year’s schedule include:

The Business of Yoga, Voice, Language, and Presence: Take Students Deeper, Yoga Philosophy in Modern Practice, Advanced Sequencing & Class Design, Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, Seasonal Yoga Approaches, Advanced Pranayama & Meditation, Yoga for Burnout: Recovery & Resilience, Teaching Somatic Yoga, Teaching Beginners, Yoga for Healthy Aging, Special Populations, Supporting Grief.

4

Your signature offering

Your capstone project is a portfolio that showcases your distinctive approach and expertise, helping you stand out in an increasingly crowded field. Your portfolio will be practical. Depending on your interest, it will include research to support what you offer, marketing materials, and fully developed classes, privates, retreats, or business proposals.

You’ll work with Sara in your mentorship sessions and independent study to develop your portfolio, which you will share at the closing retreat along with other students who have come to the end of the program.

Elements of the AYTT in more detail.

We offer two distinct Advanced Training programs. Both are hybrid, containing both recorded and in-person content, and they both include the same components.

The delivery of in-person content is what differentiates them.

One program is offered at our Western New York Studio (Immersive), and the other is online (Flexible).

Both programs include the following elements, which can be taken in succession or at your own pace.

Students interested in taking single modules or electives are also always welcome.

Element One

BookEnd Retreats (15 hours each)

Our Yoga Teacher Community is vital to our program. Being a yoga teacher can be isolating and lonely. We all know that the best way to grow and learn is in a community of like-minded people. The retreats help to foster an environment of care, support, and celebration.

Immersive Program Retreat Dates:
Opening Retreat Oct 11-13, 2025
Closing Retreat October 9-11, 2026
Retreats will be held on site at Shine Studio, Menla Retreat Center, Catskills, New York, or Algonquin, Ontario, Canada.

Flexible Program Retreat Dates:
Opening Retreat June 17-19, 2026
Closing Retreat June 18-20, 2027
Retreats will be in person at either Joshua Tree, California, Menla Retreat Center, New York, or Algonquin, Ontario, Canada.

Element Two

Core Programs

All Mentees will be required to take Module 1 and either Module 2, 3, or 4. Mentees can take as many modules as they like if they and can take them out of order. These trainings are available to non-mentees.

Module 1: Yoga Teacher's Guide To and Through the Body

55 Hours | Required Core program

Explore the human body through both physical and energetic lenses in this transformative training. This comprehensive component examines specific areas of the body through dual perspectives: the anatomical/mechanical and the subtle/energetic.

You'll learn to address common injuries and limitations while developing creative approaches to teaching that incorporate metaphor, language, and imagery. Each body region is explored through practical teaching applications for both group and private settings, giving you concrete strategies to transform your teaching immediately.

This essential training forms the foundation of our advanced program, providing you with the sophisticated understanding of the body necessary for truly effective teaching.

Immersive: October 11, 2025- June 13, 2026
One Saturday per month

Flexible: June 2026- February 2027

Open to all program participants and available to non-mentees for $2,060.

Module 2: REST & RETREAT

30 Hours | Required Core program

Master the art and science of deep rest in this specialized training focused on restorative yoga and the nervous system. Beginning with an exploration of the central nervous system and vagus nerve, you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of why rest is essential and how to guide students into genuine relaxation.

The training encompasses three core areas: restorative yoga practice (poses, props, and class design), the koshas (energetic layers of being), and yoga nidra (yogic sleep). You'll experience the transformative effects of consistent practice through a daily yoga nidra practice during the training.

Learn to teach these practices at different times of day, develop workshops and retreat experiences, and guide students into meaningful rest in a world that rarely slows down.

Immersive: May 22-24 & May 29-31, 2026

Flexible: March 2027

Available to program participants and open to non-mentees for $1050

Person meditating indoors in a yoga pose, with hands in a mudra gesture.

Module 3: Chronic Illness, Pain Management, and Private Sessions

30 Hours | Specialized Elective

Develop specialized skills for working with students experiencing pain, chronic illness, and complex physical challenges. This training begins with understanding pain response through the nervous system and connective tissue, then explores how yogic approaches can help students manage and transform their experience of pain.

You'll gain practical knowledge of the lymphatic system and fascia, along with targeted approaches for specific conditions including autoimmune disorders, arthritis, migraines, and cancer. Beyond theoretical understanding, you'll learn how to develop specialized programs for these populations and how to effectively structure private sessions for people in pain.

This training empowers you to work confidently and compassionately with students across the spectrum of physical challenges, opening doors to specialized teaching opportunities and deeper service.

Immersive: Jun 26-28 & Jul 10-12, 2026

If you’ve done a Yoga Teacher Training, you know the importance of quality.

after all…

• A YTT can give you the confidence, skill, knowledge, and experience to start living the life you want, or put you right back where you started.

• Quality leadership can build a supportive, kind community of life long friends. Poor leadership can produce a disconnected or unsupportive group dynamic.

• Yes, there are online programs for $500. But what are you really getting from that program. You’re going to devote 300 hours of your time to study. Is it worth your time and energy to enroll in a low quality program?

FAQs

  • Yes, our Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is designed for teachers who have already completed a 200-hour certification. We build upon that foundation to deepen your knowledge and skills. If you have extensive yoga experience but haven't completed a 200-hour program, please schedule a consultation to discuss your background and whether this program might be suitable for you.

  • For the in-person program, you'll have approximately 6-10 hours of scheduled training per month, plus 5-7 hours of independent study. The online program offers more flexibility with approximately 8 hours of live online sessions per month that can be viewed as recordings if needed. Both programs require dedication to your personal practice and teaching development. Most students find they need 3-5 hours weekly to fully engage with the material.

  • Our program distinguishes itself through its mentorship approach, specialized training components, and dual focus on physical and energetic understanding.

The program is designed to help you find a niche with our support and to broaden your repertoire of what you are able to teach.

Unlike programs that offer a one-size-fits-all curriculum, we guide you to develop your unique teaching voice while providing specialized training in areas like restorative yoga, pain management, or women's health.

The combination of structured training with personalized mentorship creates a transformative container for genuine growth as a teacher.

  • Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. The program is specifically designed for working teachers, with weekend intensives and evening sessions that accommodate teaching schedules. You'll be able to immediately apply what you're learning to your classes, creating a powerful feedback loop between your training and teaching experience. Many graduates report that their students notice positive changes in their teaching even during the early stages of the program.

  • Yes. Nearly everyone who does this training has another job, or teaches yoga regularly, or both.

The training is spread out and designed to accommodate people who have busy lives.

  • No, part of what this training does is help you to gain confidence as a teacher and find what you really love about teaching.

One of the reasons I designed the program in the way that I did is that many students have certifications, but don’t feel confident teaching. This will help you get there.

"The decision to invest in advanced training was the turning point in my teaching career. Don't wait to take your teaching to the next level."

— Rebecca
